Maldives travel guide
Your own private island
The Maldives is a chain of coral atolls where most resorts sit on their own island — so your holiday is all about the villa, the lagoon and the reef. It is just a short flight from India, which makes it the dream honeymoon, anniversary or luxury escape.
Our Maldives packages include resort stays with your choice of meal plan (half board to all-inclusive), speedboat or seaplane transfers and honest advice on which resort suits you — by house reef, food, kids’ club or budget.

Maldives travel tips
Choose your resort by transfer type, house reef and meal plan — they matter more than star ratings.
Seaplanes fly only in daylight — late-night arrivals may need a night near Malé.
Alcohol is available only at resorts, not on local islands.
Bring reef-safe sunscreen and a rash guard for snorkelling.
All-inclusive plans often save money — drinks and meals are expensive at resorts.
Dress modestly when visiting Malé and local islands.
November to April is the dry season with the best weather. May to October is wetter but offers excellent discounts.
Do Indians need a visa for the Maldives?
No advance visa is needed — all nationalities get a free 30-day tourist visa on arrival with a confirmed booking.
Water villa or beach villa?
Water villas give the iconic lagoon views and direct sea access; beach villas offer more privacy and are better for children. Many couples split their stay.
How many nights are ideal?
3–4 nights in one resort is perfect; 5 nights lets you combine two resorts or villa types.
Is the Maldives only for honeymooners?
Not at all — many resorts have kids’ clubs and family villas, and local islands suit friends on a budget.
